Obama on Reading Intelligence Reports & Other Foreign Policy Stuff

Hey guys…check out the Prez in 2008, via The Blaze, as he lectures the Bush administration:

And then there’s Obama’s criticism of President Bush regarding comments Bush made before the Knesset in Israel:

ABC News’ Ed O’Keefe Reports: The Obama campaign is taking issue with a comment President Bush made while speaking to the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israel’s statehood.

“Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the President said to the country’s legislative body, “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

In a statement, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., shot across the bow: “It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel’s independence to launch a false political attack. It is time to turn the page on eight years of policies that have strengthened Iran and failed to secure America or our ally Israel. Instead of tough talk and no action, we need to do what Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan did and use all elements of American power — including tough, principled, and direct diplomacy – to pressure countries like Iran and Syria. George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the President’s extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel.”

Leave it to the narcissist to think Bush was talking about him rather than the two contrasting approaches, strength vs. appeasement.

We can now see, in striking video hour after hour, where the ideology ofappeasement leads.

When a president extends the hand of friendship to our enemies, in this case the bullies of Islamic terror, he has made of us their victims; he has drawn a target on our backs.

When he takes an apathetic approach to defense briefings he tells us he is not really interested in his job as commander-in-chief.

When a President takes pot shots at his competitor for doing exactly as he did as a former candidate it’s time to look for an adult to hold the position of President.

During the current situation the Obama campaign was shocked…shocked…that Mitt Romney would have an opinion on the murderous attack on our embassy:

President Barack Obama’s campaign returned fire on his Republican opponent. Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt said, “We are shocked that, at a time when the United States of America is confronting the tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya, Governor Romney would choose to launch a political attack.”

In 2008, however, while Obama was running for the office he now holds, he was not above using national tragedy to launch political attacks.

Obama repeatedly used an incident in Afghanistan in which nine U.S. servicemen were killed to make the political point that resources reserved for the Iraq campaign were draining needed support from troops in Afghanistan.

As the New York Times reported, then-Candidate Obama criticized the Bush administration on July 13, 2008, arguing “a new round of violence on Sunday, in which nine American soldiers died in fierce fighting with the Taliban in eastern Afghanistan, underscored the military challenges ahead for the United States.”

It’s time to show Mr. Obama the door…preferably the back door near the garbage bags where the Dali Llama was shown the door when visiting the Obama White House:

Transcript from Friday, February 19, NBC Nightly News, as read by Brian Williams posted at NewsBusters:

How do you ask the Dalai Lama to leave the White House if you’re trying to keep his visit from becoming too public? Well, judging from the trash bags that he had to walk around, the Obama White House had him exit through a door seldom used by anybody but household staff. It’s where the West Wing meets the main residence. China, however, did notice the visit and called in the U.S. ambassador to China today to protest.

As you ponder the incoherent approach of the Obama administration to foreign policy while in campaign mode you might enjoy reading William A. Jacobson’s, “Obama’s Great Islamist Delusions have come home to roost”:

Life with a hurt feelings gun to our head begging that the trigger not be pulled is the change we apparently were waiting for.

Talk about perverse ironies. This all comes from an administration and political party backed by people who regularly denigrate Christianity, and who are running a campaign focused on forcing American Catholics to abandon their religious principles and to cast aside their hurt feelings on issues of life.

This all is a result of Barack Obama’s delusional approach to the Middle East, one in which we are the perpetual villain, and in which we had to supplicate ourselves and our allies by heaping praise on people who do not ever return the favor.

Indeed!

Not mere appeasement, not merely incoherent, completely insane. The progressive left, which rules the Democratic Party and led by Oboama is clinically insane.

Pie, I’m strongly inclined to agree with you. I believe believe they are suffering from one or more mental pathologies – see below:

It would be an interesting experiment if we could capture and evaluate mobs for Code Pink, NoW, NORMAL, OWS, DNC, MoveOn, NWLF, ALF, New Black Panther Party, and similar radical groups. I am pretty sure at leat 70% of them would be classified as having some degree of paranoid personality disorder or delusional disorder.

When this becomes serious it’s called a “psychosis” in which a person cannot tell what is real from what is imagined…for instance I say a black lady saying, “Obama is gonna pay for my rent and my gasoline with Obama dollars.” She’s ready for a rubber room.

The main feature of this disorder is the presence of delusions, which are unshakable beliefs in something untrue. “Obama is a savior, he is the greatest president we’ve ever had. He has struggled to overcome the problems left by George W. Bush, the worst president ever.”
If they believe this they’re as nuts as the lady above.

People with delusional disorder also experience non-bizarre delusions, which involve situations that could occur in real life, such as being conspired against, or being part of a great movement to remake the planet into a wonderful utopia and saving us from global warming by banning plastic bags and charging $5 a gallon for gasoline.

These delusions usually involve the misinterpretation of perceptions or experiences. In reality, however, the situations are either not true at all or highly exaggerated, but they are often exploited by the democratic party leaders and other socialist groups.

People with delusional disorder often can continue to socialize and function normally, apart from the subject of their delusion, and generally do not behave in an obviously odd or bizarre manner, except for their political actions that give them away. This is unlike people with other psychotic disorders, who also might have delusions as a symptom of their disorder.

In some cases, however, people with delusional disorder might become so preoccupied with their delusions that their lives are disrupted, such as the OWS group or LaRaza.

According to Michael Schwalbe, author of Common Dreams, May 30, 2008, a professor of sociology at North Carolina State University, you might be liberal wackjob if:

You think health care is a basic human right, and that single-payer national health insurance is a worthwhile reform on our way toward creating a non-profit national health care service.

You think that human rights ought always to trump property rights.

You think U.S. military spending is an obscene waste of resources, and that the only freedom this spending protects is the freedom of economic elites to exploit working people all around the planet.

You think U.S. troops should be brought home not only from Afghanistan and Iraq, but from all 130 countries in which the U.S. has military bases.

You think political leaders who engage in “preemptive war” and invasions should be brought to trial for crimes against humanity and judged against the standards of international law established at Nuremberg after World War Two.

You think public education should be free, not just from kindergarten through high school, but as far as a person is willing and able to go.

You think that electoral reform should include instant run-off voting, publicly-financed elections, easy ballot access for all parties, and proportional representation.

You think that electoral democracy is not enough, and that democracy must also be participatory and extend to workplaces.

You think that strengthening the rights of all workers to unionize and bargain collectively is a useful step toward full economic democracy.

You think that as a society we have a collective obligation to provide everyone who is willing and able to work with a job that pays a living wage and offers dignity.

You think that a class system which forces some people to do dirty, dangerous, boring work all the time, while others get to do clean, safe, interesting work all the time, can never deliver social justice.

You think that regulating big corporations isn’t enough, and that such corporations, if they are allowed to exist at all, must either serve the common good or be put into public receivership.

You think that the legal doctrine granting corporations the same constitutional rights as natural persons is absurd and must be overturned.

You think it’s wrong to allow individuals to accumulate wealth without limits, and that the highest incomes should be capped well before they begin to threaten community and democracy.

You think that wealth, not just income, should be taxed.

You think it’s crazy to use the Old Testament as a policy guide for the 21st century.

You believe in celebrating diversity, while also recognizing that having women and people of color proportionately represented among the class of oppressors is not the goal we should be aiming for.

You think that the state has no right to kill, and that putting people to death to show that killing is wrong will always be a self-defeating policy.

You think that anyone who desires the reins of power that come with high political office should, by reason of that desire, be seen as unfit for the job.

You think that instead of more leaders, we need fewer followers.

You think that national borders, while sometimes establishing territories of safety, more often establish territories of exploitation, much like gang turf.

You are open to considering how the privileges you enjoy because of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and/or physical ability might come at the expense of others.

You believe that voting every few years is a weak form of political participation, and that achieving social justice requires concerted effort before, during, and after elections.

You think that, ideally, no one would have more wealth more than they need until everyone has at least as much as they need to live a safe, happy, decent life.

You recognize that an economic system which requires continuous expansion, destroys the environment, relies on rapidly-depleting fossil fuels, exacerbates inequality, and leads to war after war is unsustainable and must be replaced. Score a bonus point if you understand that sticking to the existing system is what’s unrealistic.

  3. Peggy says:

The living breathing form of what you just described can be seen in that video I posted of the DNC delegetes asked about socialism.

Very scary with so many clueless lemmings following their beloved leader.
