Fallen Navy Seals Glen Doherty and Tyron Woods

Submitted by Peggy

Charles Woods, father of former Navy Seal Tyron Woods killed in Benghazi speaks out about his son’s death. “I want to honor my son, Ty Woods, who responded to the cries for help and voluntarily sacrificed his life to protect the lives of other Americans. In the last few days it has become public knowledge that within minutes of the first bullet being fired the White House knew these heroes would be slaughtered if immediate air support was denied. Apparently, C-130s were ready to respond immediately. In less than an hour, the perimeters could have been secured and American lives could have been saved. After seven hours fighting numerically superior forces, my son’s life was sacrificed because of the White House’s decision. This has nothing to do with politics, this has to do with integrity and honor. My son was a true American hero. We need more heroes today. My son showed moral courage. This is an opportunity for the person or persons who made the decision to sacrifice my son’s life to stand up.”

It should work now, thanks Peggy.

  2. J. Soden says:

Mr. Woods – thank you for your son’s service. I must apologize for my president despicable treatment of you. He should have spoken directly to you and at least have had the decency to look you in the eye. You and your son deserved better.

The truth is coming out from the forces on the ground in Benghazi. The men who were there and those in the know are coming forward.

The slain former seals defied their second request denial to leave the annex to rescue those under attack those at the embassy.

    From The Blaze:

Slain Seals Told to Stand Down

Explosive new allegations surrounding the Benghazi attack emerged this morning, with FOX News Jennifer Griffin reporting that sources have confirmed that three urgent requests for military assistance sent from the CIA annex were all denied:

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that three urgent requests from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack nearly seven hours later were denied by officials in the CIA chain of command who also told the CIA operators to stand down rather than help the ambassadors team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing. They were told to stand down, according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to stand down.

The decision to go in, apparently against orders, tells me our troops are feeling abandoned and without a (reliable) leader. The SEALS involved refused to dishonor themselves by ignoring their creed and duty. This is incredible!

    J. Soden I join you in your expressions of deep regret. I also wish these families peace in their hearts. Most of the country stand with them and we are so proud of these men and their commitment to the nation, the ambassador, and their fellows serving in the military. God bless them.

The story is still developing but the end result remains: People died. Where were the threat analysis and contingency plans? I have worked in enough Tactical Operations and Emergency Operations Centers to know their preparation is routine and ongoing. Our commanders, both civilian and military, are too busy doing CYA. They need to find out what happened and bring those responsible for this failure to account. Secretary Clinton did warn the GOP about cutting funds for Embassy security. When will we hear about this being the fault of the Republicans?

I think it has more to do with moral courage and incompetent leaders.

  6. RHT447 says:

IMHO, support was denied in the hope that no one would survive, hence no witnesses, leaving the Admistration free to spin the story at will. Typical Chicago politics.

  7. Post Scripts says:

I am strongly inclined to believe that is the case and that should be investigated and it was even hinted at there should be an impeachment started.

Nothing explains the Obama lie and prolonged deception any better than this.

  8. Post Scripts says:

Jerry, I totally and 100% agree with your assessment…thank you so much for saying it here. People need to know this stuff from people who have been in such situations like yourself.

From both a military and law enforcement perspective, I too have seen the hand wringing and convoluted “what if’s” that cloud clear thinking to the point of gridlock. When it comes to the people at State…the safe play is always to do nothing that would created an international incident. And since anything we do will create an international incident – we always do nothing! THAT HAS TO STOP!

Why are we so obsessed over concerns what other people might think to the point we will let Americans die?

If the truth be known, we have neither a perfect record nor are we loved by the world. So who gives a @#$! Whatever the bureaucrats think we’re risking by taking some immediate action to save American lives, as in a Benghazi type event, is something the majority of Americans would strongly support…in fact they would probably send up a cheer, because we are so starved for decisive leadership and we’re so tired of bad guys winning because we failed to act.

I’ve lived with frustration and resentment of those CYA bureaucrats ever since the U.S.S. Pueblo was hijacked in international waters by the North Koreans. At that time I served on a sister ship… and that could have been us! I was with that crew in spirit all the way. I know most everything about the Pueblo incident and why they didn’t get rescued and I am ashamed of how it was handled.

The Pueblo sits in a North Korean harbor now, completely intact as a war trophy to be paraded to commies and visitors. If we couldn’t have saved the ship from capture, we should have destroyed it just as soon as our men were safely back home. That was an act of war! Imagine…to have this USN ship in their hands! It’s an insult to every red blooded American – just like Benghazi is an insult to our national pride now as well as a criminal and cowardly abandonment of those who were murdered defending US soil.

Can you imagine being there? Can you even begin to imagine having continuous radio contact with military forces that could wipe out those terrorists within 1 hour and 15 minutes from a go signal being given? And here you are under fire and returning fire…calling in air strike coordinances, locating enemy positions and motar emplacements, holding on for dear life, waiting for over 6 long hours, expecting the cavalry to show up any minute…and some bureaucrat, most likely the President, just says no, let’s no rush into anything…in other words, let them die?

I can’t understand it! What kind of cold person could do this to Americans under siege? You’ve real-time information from the best resources with top secret security clearance telling you, “Help us, we’re under attack by heavily armed al Qaeda forces, we have eyes on targets, here are their positions, help us, we’re dying…send help fast… And weeks later after the facts are coming out the Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says in his administrations defense, “We don’t just rush in American forces without verification and due consideration.” OMG…the man should be fired from his job immediately for saying something that STUPID! All of them need to go.

This was worse than the Pueblo.

Jerry you raised such good points and you know the score because you’ve been there and seen this stuff first hand. This is CYA at it’s worst. It’s shameful.

  9. Peggy says:

Jack, I didnt realize you and my husband had the Pueblo in common. He was stationed in Okinawa on the SR-71 where the Pueblo docked just before it was captured by No. Korea. Of course this was before the govt acknowledged the SR-71 even existed or was used to fly surveillance/reconnaissance flights over Vietnam from Okinawa.

Dont feel comfortable sharing his experience here on PS, but will the next time we get together.

I love my country Jack, but do not trust its govt run by politicians with personal agendas.

My husband had top secret clearance and was order to not talk about anything he did for 10 years after his discharge, which he honored. What little we did learn after the 10 years indicated how lucky we were he didnt end up being MIA or a POW.

While I believe what happened with the Pueblo was bad, very bad I also believe what happened in Benghazi is also equally as bad, but different. The only difference being people never knew and still dont know what happened on the Pueblo, while today we knew, in the US, what was happening as it happened making the cover-up impossible.

  10. Jerry Hargrove says:

Too bad the lame street media will not report this.

  11. Post Scripts says:

Peggy, that’s very interesting. Most people today have no knowledge of the Pueblo incident, but for some of old swabbies, especially those who served on the spy ships, we remember it well.

My ship was a converted WWII freighter loaded with the latest electronics. We had a number of civilians on board (who knows what they did?) and Marine guards to keep us snoopy sailors out of their business. However, since I had laundry duty I was given permission to pass the doors where the important stuff happened. Couldn’t see much, except those rooms were loaded with radio gear. I had a secret clearance, but not top secret, that was costly and reserved only for the most important people…not for guys like me.

  12. Tina says:

Republicans did cut the budget by a couple of million dollars but the budget was sufficient. The problem was one of priority and image. The administration was attempting to put on a face of “normalization” in Libya. American embassies in small friendly countries have greater security teams than were provided in Libya. Valerie Jarret gets beefed up security when she travels but Chris Stevens didn’t get squat!

Lame policies and a criminally insufficient response to pleas for help and later a terror attack cannot be blamed on budget cuts…particularly in light of Obama’s plans to cut military spending which he arrogantly brags can be easily managed…we don’t need no stinking bayonets and all.

Jerry I think it is about a lack of moral courage and incompetence but I also think it has to do with a distorted world view.

  13. Post Scripts says:

    Thanks Jerry…

  14. Harold Ey says:

People know that weve been lied to about the attacks in Benghazi, but until most recent disclosure of facts (without the help of an bias media) few realized the extent of those lies or the hidden secrets they cover. After all, the lie is different at every level. Recently information from a well placed source with extensive knowledge about the attack; the TRUTH is slowly beginning to emerge.
As we had been told originally (Per White House releases) Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed during a spontaneous protest in Benghazi by a frenzied crowd of Muslims outraged over an obscure internet video., well we now know that to be BS! Just to preserve Obamas re-election chances!
Recently released sensitive but not classified e-mails from Stevens to the U.S. Department of State stated the need for more security at the embassy, The failure to dispatch ANY security personnel or otherwise rescue the men from a firefight that lasted upwards of nine tortuous hours was not the result of any intelligence failure. No this White House could not admit its involvement in the Middle East because of 2012 elections, and they basically sacrificed 4 lives for re-election reasons.
First, it is important to understand that Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Dougherty and Tyrone Woods were not killed at a consulate office in Benghazias there is no such office there. They died at one of the largest CIA operations centers in the Middle East, which was located in Benghazi and served as the logistics headquarters for arms and weapons being shipped out of the post-Qaddafi Libya.
The U.S. government insisted that Stevens was involved in securing and destroying the numerous caches of arms and weapons once under the control of Qaddafi, the operation was more than that. The visual accounts of weapons being destroyed were indeed real, but those weapons were not operational. Working weapons were actually separated and transported to US holding facilities for their eventual use in Syria. Russia was fully aware of this operation and warned the U.S. not to interfere! It is because of the discovery of this US activity by Russian intelligence the White House is trying to reinvent and distance itself from the Benghazi attack.

  15. Libby says:

What’s your source for this, Harold? If it’s true it explains a lot. I mean, the way the righties are jumping up and down over their conspiracy theories should be generating a little more Congressional activity … and it isn’t.

If the our government is indeed in the middle of a big effort to disarm the Libyan militias, they’re not going to let an AQ raid, of even a dead Ambassador, put crimp in it. I think I would have to concur.
