Obama, “Voting is the Best Revenge”

The President portrays himself as a thoughtful man.

Yet the President said an outrageous thing at a rally in Ohio on Friday. While speaking to his supporters he mentioned Mitt Romney’s name and when the crowd began to boo he admonished them saying, “”No, no, no, Don’t boo. Vote! Voting is the best revenge.

Revenge? Revenge against whom…or what? We assume he meant Americans that will not vote for him and his agenda on Tuesday. Is this the way a president should be speaking about the American people?

If you recall, this isn’t the only time President Obama has referred to Americans as the enemy. On October 26th of 2010 The Examiner reported on remarks the President made to Hispanic voters:

While talking to Hispanic voters on Tuesday, Obama told them they must “Punish our enemies and reward our friends and go to the polls and vote or he will not be able to get an immigration policy approved. Which is nice to say, but Obama could care less about illegal immigrants and had not intended to introduce a bill until he saw Independent voters leaving him in droves and realized he needed their votes.

The President did make an attempt at clarification in an interview with radio talker Michael Baisden:

And you know, it’s interesting right now, there was a — I had a conversation with a Hispanic radio outlet, Univision, and during the course of that conversation, one of the things that I had to say to the Latino community, which is frustrated that we haven’t seen progress on immigration reform, was that they can’t sit out of this election. There were arguments being made that because Democrats hadn’t gotten this done, that Latinos should vote against Democrats or just sit out the election.

And I said, well, you can’t punish your friends when — the folks who’ve been supporting it. Now, I did also say if you’re going to punish somebody, punish your enemies, and I probably should have used the word, “opponents” instead of enemies. Now the Republicans are saying that I’m calling them enemies. What I’m saying is you’re an opponent of this particular provision, comprehensive immigration reform, which is something very different.

But the key issue here is that if you are supportive of comprehensive immigration reform, if you are supportive of health care reform, if you are supportive of making sure that credit card companies are treating us fairly, making sure that banks are properly regulated so they don’t end up getting taxpayer bailouts — if you support those things, then you’ve got to support those who helped to put those provisions into law. And you’ve got to make sure that those who are opposed to that legislation, that they get a clear message that they shouldn’t be standing in the way of the progress, but rather we should be moving this country forward.

The only thing the President is sincere about is that he is right and anyone who disagrees with his solutions and approach is an enemy to his magnificence. This is not how our country works. This is the mind of someone who considers himself a ruler rather than a leader of a free nation. His remarks indicate a man who has very little, if any, regard for the American system of government.

The President has a pattern of using soaring rhetoric and divisive language.

He selectively aligns with his supporters and backers and with special interest groups. He did this when he took sides against a police officer before knowing the facts. He did so when he inserted himself into the Trayvon Martin case. But when Gabrielle Gifford’s and others were murdered by a crazy man in Arizona and certain writers on the left were quick to lay blame on Sarah Palin and the Tea Party the President took the opportunity to wear once again the hat of unity and said the following:

“At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized, at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do,” he said, “it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”

So which is it Mr. President? Do you have different set of rules for yourself than you do for others? Does it occur to you that as the leader of our nation your words create the atmosphere and tone or that your flip flop approach to unity is discordant and confusing?

The Presidents words following the Gifford murders were “presidential”…but they rang hollow in my ears. I recalled the rhetoric of the President when he said to his constituents that if his opponents brought a knife to a fight they should bring a gun.

A man greatly conflicted or a wolf in sheep’s clothing?

Remember when he said Republicans could join his party in avoiding the economic cliff but they would have to “sit in the back” of the bus? Megan Kelly discusses this statement, made by our President, with Monica Crowley:

In 2008 the President announced to a group of supporters that Joe Biden would be his running mate. Both men spoke of uniting the people and, using Lincoln as a symbol, of the glorious tomorrow their administration would bring. Biden closed his remarks by saying the following:

Ladies and gentlemen, this is no ordinary time. This is no ordinary election. And this may be our last chance to reclaim the America we love, to restore America’s soul…

…And now it’s time for all of us, as Lincoln said, to put our feet in the right place and to stand firm.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to elect Barack Obama president. It’s our time. It’s America’s time. God bless America. And may He protect our troops.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden spoke of unity in 2008 but have done little to unite the American people in four years. The administration refuses to name our real enemies while dividing the nation along the lines of race and class.

The Presidents handling of the situation in Benghazi is the latest incident to raise questions about the Presidents true intentions for America.

The scandal is a raw wound for many Americans, and certainly for the families of the dead, yet the election takes precedence for a man who seems desperate to retain his crown.

PJ Media posted an article by a former Navy Seal who writes an informative piece about how orders are given…and not given. He concludes:

We can be 100% certain that cross-border authority was never given. How do I know this? Because if CBA was granted and the rescue mission execute orders were handed down, irrefutable records exist today in at least a dozen involved component commands, and probably many more. No general or admiral will risk being hung out to dry for undertaking a mission-gone-wrong that the POTUS later disavows ordering, and instead blames on “loose cannons” or “rogue officers” exceeding their authority. No general or admiral will order U.S. armed forces to cross an international border on a hostile mission unless and until he is certain that the National Command Authority, in the person of the POTUS and his chain of command, has clearly and explicitly given that order: verbally at the outset, but thereafter in written orders and official messages. If they exist, they could be produced today.

When it comes to granting cross-border authority, there are no presidential mumblings or musings to paraphrase or decipher. If you hear confusion over parsed statements given as an excuse for Benghazi, then you are hearing lies. I am sure that hundreds of active-duty military officers know all about the Benghazi execute orders (or the lack thereof), and I am impatiently waiting for one of them to come forward to risk his career and pension as a whistleblower.

Leon Panetta is falling on his sword for President Obama with his absurd-on-its-face, “the U.S. military doesn’t do risky things”-defense of his shameful no-rescue policy. Panetta is utterly destroying his reputation. General Dempsey joins Panetta on the same sword with his tacit agreement by silence. But why? How far does loyalty extend when it comes to covering up gross dereliction of duty by the president?

General Petraeus, however, has indirectly blown the whistle. He was probably “used” in some way early in the cover-up with the purported CIA intel link to the Mohammed video, and now he feels burned. So he conclusively said via his public affairs officer that the stand-down order did not come from the CIA. Well — what outranks the CIA? Only the national security team at the White House. That means President Obama, and nobody else. Petraeus is naming Obama without naming him. If that is not quite as courageous as blowing a whistle, it is far better than the disgraceful behavior of Panetta and Dempsey.

We do not know the facts for certain, but we do know that the rescue mission stand-down issue revolves around the granting or withholding of cross-border authority, which belongs only to President Obama. More than one hundred gung-ho Force Recon Marines were waiting on the tarmac in Sigonella, just two hours away for the launch order that never came.

Does Barack Obama give a damn about our country or its troops?

Does he care about Americans being able to unite behind a common heritage and purpose? Does he understand who the enemies of freedom and inalienable rights are? Is he, in fact, a uniting figure or a man bent on dividing in order to conquer? I must confess I have no answer to the questions I ask. I am, however, left with great uncertainty about the future of America should this man be given a second term.

We are at the end of President Obama’s first, and I pray only, term as President. The economic cliff looms large, the economy has not been remedied, but made worse, and the country remains deeply divided.

Do the often conflicting and inflammatory statements made by our president bother you as they do me? Do his words and attitudes make him seem disingenuous to you as they do me? Do the words of Joe Biden, highlighted above, cause chills for anyone else at this time when American’s are questioning the events surrounding Benghazi?

The President is the leader of the entire nation. He is required, by virtue of his office, to lead all of the people of the the nation. Yet since the beginning of his presidency he has treated our enemies with greater respect than he has shown approximately half of the American people…is it any wonder the country remains divided? The President has had nearly four years of experience, experience that could have matured him and made him wiser and stronger. Instead, after four years we see a man little changed by his experiences in office. Any president of nearly four years that can say “voting is the best revenge” to a group of his constituents is no president at all but a partisan hack, a community organizer with a deep seated hatred for the country that elected him to its highest office. If he should lose and the half of the country he seems so bent on inciting to riot do indeed riot he will be responsible…if blood flows it will be on his head.

We Americans have a choice (next week) to elect a man that has sound leadership qualities, a proven record of success and honor, and a better vision for America.

    Yep, that’s Obama.

  2. J. Soden says:

A majority of us will have “revenge” on Tuesday. Unfortunately it won’t equal the mess that Obumble has given to this nation during his one term.

However, Obumble’s legacy as the most corrupt, spendthrift, and incompetent Prez EVER is secure. Prez Peanut can relax now . . . .

  3. Toby says:

Vengeance will indeed be served up on Tuesday.

  4. Pie Guevara says:

I have already voted by mail. Not for revenge, not for vengeance, not out of hate, and certainly not for Obama’s loins (thank you David Axelrod). But for love of country.

Peggy those graphs say it all; thanks for sharing them with us.

Those who haven’t taken a look, I recommend it, especially if a picture works better for understanding than words.
