Question of the Week

Posted by Jack

In 2011, Great Britain spent a total $57.8 million dollars for personal staffing, housing, flying and entertaining on the Royal family. . .

Question: In the same year how much did the taxpayers spend for personal staffing, housing, flying and entertaining for Barack Obama and his family?

a. $42.4 million b. $62.4 million c. $82.4 million d. $1.4 billion

ANSWER: d. $1.4 billion dollars

No wonder they couldn’t afford security at the Benghazi Embassy! Imagine the Obama’s blew thru more money than the largest lottery ever paid out in US history. And they spent it all in 12 short months. How long would a million dollars last you? How about a thousand million with 400 more million thrown in for tips? Could you and say 50,000 of your closest friends manage to survive for a year on that?

Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion dollars on everything from staffing, housing, flying and entertaining President Obama and his family last year, according to the author of a new book on taxpayer-funded presidential perks.

In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family.

Author Robert Keith Gray writes in “Presidential Perks Gone Royal” that Obama isn’t the only president to have taken advantage of the expensive trappings of his office. But the amount of money spent on the first family, he argues, has risen tremendously under the Obama administration and needs to be reined in.

Mark Styne has probably read the book. He let it be known today that there is a staff member whose job is to run a movie in the projection room at any time, night or day…whenever member of the family wants to watch a movie. What? They can’t pop a DVD into a player in the private quarters once in awhile?

There is no question that the Obama’s have been more extravagant and less mindful of the cost than other presidents have been. Its unseemly at a time when many Americans are in a world of financial hurt…especially since Obamas policies have not made things better and in many ways are much worse.

But, I wonder how many people think he deserves it as the first black president..which reminds me…did anyone else see the video of Jammie Foxx:

A pre-recorded broadcast of the event on Sunday night shows Foxx saying to the audience, “Its like church over here! First of all, give an honor to God… and our lord and savior, Barack Obama… Y’all stand up right now.”

The audience appears pleased with the notion of Obama as “Lord and savior,” as they cheer aloud and chant president’s name.

Man…I know he’s a comedian but I think that steps over the line.

The irony of the Obama Presidency is how much they waste in tax dollars for their private wants,(not needs) and turn around and insist the rich do not do enough for the the country. Of course they use that line over and over when seeking the continuous voting support of the entitlement generation which Obama manipulates to maintain this lifestyle. This president continuous to ignore he has a elected position of leadership not one of opulence, which to date we have experienced Obama’s usurious use of the position. It would be nice to see Obama lead more by example, and less by divisive verbal assaults that continues to polarize the country. Jacks recent post showing the cost of maintaining the first family verse the British royals is clearly a prime example of the Obama family extravagant use of tax money while the rest of the country struggles to make ends meet.

Harold, I agree with everything you said and then some! If I may add, Obama’s extravagance sets a whole new standard for indifference and self indulgence. We’ve elected and re-elected a Nero. This is a confirmation that the world is indeed getting dumber.

  4. Post Scripts says:

The degree to which the Obama’s can indulge themselves is only limited by our tolerance….and that is the part that scares me the most.
