Shipping Clerks Strike!

by Jack

(Long Beach) Unionized shipping clerks are going on strike over an allegation of outsourcing to shippers in other states. The cargo companies say that’s not true and to make peace they have offered them a raise in pay and more vacation time. Currently shipping clerks are paid $160,000 with full benefits, they have been offered a salary of $190,000 plus 11 weeks paid vacation each year. The clerks are thinking it over, but hint that this may not be enough..

Boy, those union “folks” are sure being victimized by heartless companies…how could anyone threat their employees so terribly? This is an outrage! Anyone with a heart should be able to empathize with workers that are expected to survive on a measly $160K plus healthcare, pension, and only 8-9 weeks of vacation every year…clearly they’ve been ripped off! Poor buggers. I certainly hope they stay out forever and really stick it to those companies. The fat cat big corporate jerks need to be taught a lesson!

The plight of these clerks reminds me of a Dicken’s novel, they are so under-paid and with ONLY 11 weeks of vacation, it’s a tragedy! I think they should leave and go somewhere else where their unique talents at doing a job nobody else could do can be more appreciated…Burger King comes to mind.
