M1A1 – One of the Best Tanks Ever Produced

Posted by Jack

Entered Service: 1980
Manufacturer: General Dynamics Land Systems
Cost: $6.21 million*

The M1 Abrams is a massive military tank that has been in use since the 1980s. This tank was developed by what was then called Chrysler Defense which is now titled General Dynamics Land Systems. It is one of the heaviest tanks the US uses, weighing in at sixty-two metric tons.

It was named after famed General Creighton Abrams. The M1A2 replaced the good old M60 tank. It is used by the Army and Marines, and it has features such as a multi fuel turbine engine, Chobham armor, fire control systems, and a blowout compartment. It also has NBC protection for safety.

This 40 year old tank is still equal to the newest and best tank the Russian are producing. It’s quite possible that in another 10 years tanks will be obsolete due to infantry anti-tank missiles that can destroy a $6 million dollar tank with a $50,000 bullet.

Grand Plan for Homeless Flocking to Chico – Sure It’s Expensive!

by Rob Berry, Esq.

Tomorrow night, the City Council will consider the long awaited, and nearly secret plan to spend $2.4 Million dollars on homeless services.

This proposed expenditure includes $700,000 on the BMX BMX project, including paying for the Environmental studies, almost $700,000 as a grant to True North to set up a navigation center, and $1 Million more to be allocated to Mark Orme to “take all other actions necessary” to implement their plan.

(From the editor) Here’s what we know of the plan so far:

  • Create a never ending homeless industry that involves throwing around a lot of money in overhead cost and administrative jobs…great for bureaucrats.
  • Do an environmental study, ($700,000) a total waste of tax money.
  • Place the money in the hands of local liberals aka the usual suspects, like Mark Orme.  These characters have never come up with a successful plan for the homeless, never, because this problem is bigger than little Chico can handle!  We’re fighting a national problem.  Too many drug addicted losers have migrated to the west coast overwhelming services.  They want free food, lodging and a guaranteed income so they can do dope and party.
  • Defund the Chico police indirectly, taking hundreds of thousands out of their budget for this homeless giveaway project.
  • Create redundant “homeless” services that are certain to act as a magnet for more yet homeless from out of our area.
  • Do the same old things in Chico that liberals have done all over the West Coast.  These giveaway programs brought the homeless here in the first place!    (end)

Despite many offers to include me in the planning process, like you, I will only hear the details of this plan when you do. I did not participate or review any aspect of this plan before it was published.

All that is needed to set us on this course is a simple majority vote by the council to allocate these funds.

One comment that was heard is that they can take some of the money from the Chico Police Department, because they are going to do such a good job of solving the homeless problem once and for all, that the police are going to have less to do, so they need less money to do it!

Do you see how this works? Defund the police is not direct, but indirect. This plan is not the product of broad collaboration between all stakeholders, including actual citizens who are being asked to put up the funds and to suffer whatever impacts arise, it is the brainchild of the very homeless industry that has been spending public funds for years, and as you all know, things have only gotten worse. What makes us think that another plan by the homeless industry geniuses are going to produce these fantastic results?

Read the comments on Engaged on this item. As of this writing, all comments but mine are in support of this initiative. And yes, they come from all the usual suspects.

Cindy McCain Duped by Fake News

by Jack

The widow of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Wednesday said that a story in the Atlantic claimed President Trump didn’t want to visit a French war dead cemetery because it was filled with losers and suckers.  McCain said this was the “last straw” in leading to her endorsement of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

However, since this story was first published the reporter has come under fire for making false statements.  Jeffry Goldberg (Atlantic) claimed Trump cancelled the trip, but in fact the trip was  cancelled by heavy rain and this was a key part in Goldberg’s story.   The next and most damning part of Goldberg’s story is Trump’s alleged statement about losers and suckers claimed by an anonymous source.

The White House had said at the time the decision was made because of poor weather for flying Marine One and the fact that the cemetery was too far a distance for a motorcade to drive.

One of the sources who refuted the Atlantic’s reporting is not a fan of Trump. Both sources said that Trump was upset about not being able to go to Aisne-Marne and said they had never heard Trump refer to war dead at Aisne-Marne or in the battle of Belau Wood as “losers” or “suckers.”

WHITE HOUSE ATTACKS ‘FALSE’ ATLANTIC STORY ABOUT TRUMP INSULTING DEAD SOLDIERS ‘WHAT A DISGRACE’

According to Atlantic’s Jeffry Goldberg, President Trump was overheard by his anonymous source saying he wanted to cancel the trip to the cemetery because “it’s filled with losers.”  However, there were many people around the president at this alleged time and nobody else heard that.

“At least fifteen Trump administration officials who were with Trump on that trip have now disputed the Atlantic report, including former national security adviser John Bolton.”

FOIA documents have also definitively proved that Trump’s visit to the cemetery was canceled due to weather. When Goldberg was asked about evidence that the cancelation was due to inclement weather, he admitted that it was likely true.  Goldberg refused to name the source of his story that was disputed by 15 witnesses.  Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, admitted that a key detail of his article about Trump “could be wrong” during an interview with CNN on Sunday.

Goldberg’s credibility has been challenged by a preponderance of evidence that indicates the entire story was false; yet the liberal media is still using it to garner headlines, like the one with Cindy McCain, a long time adversary of Trump’s.

Mrs. McCain sellout to the democrats doesn’t make her credibility look too good either.  Cindy McCain should not support Biden based on a well known lie or she is going to go down in history as just another useful fool for the left.

Louisville – What Law Did the Police Break?

by Jack

If you stroll down the main street of Louisville today, you might get the idea a hurricane was coming.   The Mayor has just declared a state of emergency, windows are boarded up with sheets of plywood and barricades have been pre-deployed.  There’s a lot of visible police activity and the streets are unusually quiet, devoid of vehicles and pedestrians.

There’s no storm coming, just a grand jury verdict.  The mayor and city officials seem to think no criminal charges will be forthcoming against the police in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor case.  Doesn’t seem like a surprise to me, in fact I think its just the opposite.  I would be very surprised if they did recommend charges.

“Louisville, KY — A Grand Jury is expected to come back with a verdict soon about whether to bring charges against three police officers involved in the death of Breonna Taylor on March 13th, 2020.  The city is preparing for the nearly inevitable fallout, regardless of what the grand jury decides..

The city had reached a $12 million dollar settlement with Taylor’s family last week — the largest settlement in the city’s history.

Now the city is steeling itself for an announcement from Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron after his office took over the case from the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department’s Public Integrity Unit.  After the Attorney General’s office received those finding, they presented the case to a grand jury to see if criminal charges are warranted.

The grand jury could release their findings at any time.”    The officers in question are shown below.

LeBron James wants them charged. So does Beyoncé.  And so do 10 million other people who have signed a petition at change.org demanding justice for Breonna Taylor — and that Louisville Metro Police Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly, Officer Myles Cosgrove and ex-Officer Brett Hankison be charged with killing her.

But in interviews and emails, seven experienced Louisville defense lawyers who are not involved in the case — and who have an average of 37 years each in practice — say the officers should not be charged with murder or manslaughter because they had a legal right to defend themselves once her boyfriend shot at them.   Three of the attorneys are Black.

“It is unfortunate that this young lady was killed,” said Aubrey Williams, a former president of Louisville’s NAACP chapter who has spent much of his 40-year career fighting police in court.

“But for the life of me I don’t see them indicting or convicting.”

Jan Waddell, another defense lawyer who is Black and has likewise frequently tangled with police, also said Mattingly and Cosgrove are likely immune from prosecution because Kentucky law allowed them to return fire in self-defense when Mattingly was hit in the leg with a bullet fired by Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who said he didn’t know the intruders were police and thought the couple was being robbed.

Grant Money Might Have Saved Berry Creek

posted by Jack

In October 2018, just under two years before the deadly Bear Fire leveled Berry Creek, the community was selected to receive an $836,000 state grant for pruning vegetation and clearing fuel from potential fire spots.  However, strict environmental red tape delayed the grant and in the meantime Berry Creek was burned to the ground.  Can’t blame this on climate change – this one belongs to the democrats.

Strangled by delays and red tape, the forest management project was never completed, said local officials, who are now left to stew over the what-ifs.

“I can’t guarantee that it would’ve stopped the fire, but it would have given them a place to fight it,” said Bill Connelly, a Butte County supervisor representing the district that includes Berry Creek. “It very much could have made a difference.”

The grant was meant to go toward vegetation thinning and pruning projects near Bald Rock and Rockefeller roads — key evacuation routes — and Lake Madrone, an area that became ground zero of the North Complex Fire.

The delay, Butte County officials said, was due to stringent environmental reviews, despite this being exactly the kind of fire-prevention work at the forefront of the state’s wildfire conversation.

It’s impossible to know whether the grant could have saved Berry Creek from a disaster like the North Complex, which has burned more than 273,000 acres and been blamed for 15 deaths — but officials said it might have at least given the community a fighting chance.

And Now This…3 Murdered at Diner

posted by Jack

Police in Louisville, Kentucky, have arrested a man for shooting three men dead in a bar. The killer apparently struck without motive, and some commentators have accused the press of burying the story.

Michael E. Rhynes Jr, 33, was arrested just after midnight on Saturday and charged with three counts of murder, after he allegedly walked into Bungalow Joe’s Bar and Grill, pulled a handgun, and shot three men dead at point-blank range.  No motive has been disclosed, however people are claiming he was wearing a BLM tee shirt.

“Nobody had ever seen this guy before,” bar owner Joe Bishop told WRDB News.

“Burn it all Down” say Democrat Leaders and Academics

posted by Jack

Foreword - The Constitution of the United States says clearly in Article II, Section 2: ” [The President] shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint…Judges of the Supreme Court.”   President Trump is empowered by the Constitution, therefore those persons who threaten violence to prevent a top government representative from carrying out his duty are guilty of sedition.  18 U.S. Code § 2384 says, “If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.”

Pie G. made a bold prediction earlier in the article titled, You Ain’t Seen Nothin Yet.” Read that first if you haven’t already then read this.  Look’s like Pie has a crystal ball.

LIBERAL writers and academics have threatened to burn down Congress if Republicans press ahead with plans to appoint a new Supreme Court judge before the election.

A former CNN host was among prominent figures who appeared to encourage violent uprising following the death of left-wing hero Ruth Bader Ginsburg.    Former CNN host Reza Aslan tweeted: 'If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f***ing thing down'

House of Cards producer Beau Willimon, shown below, threatened to ‘shut this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment’

Former CNN host Reza Aslan joined several other verified Twitter accounts in threatening violence if Senate Republicans attempt to fill the Supreme Court seat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“Over our dead bodies. Literally,” Aslan wrote in response to a tweet saying Sen. Mitch McConnell intends to fill Ginsberg’s seat, shortly after it was announced Friday that she had died at the age of 87.

Aslan also tweeted, “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f–king thing down.”

“If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots,” Washington Post and GQ writer Laura Bassett said.

Justice Ginsburg’s death on Friday left a vacancy on the Supreme Court – setting up an explosive battle over one of the most contentious issues in American politics.

Democrats are furious after Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell suggested the GOP would hold an early vote to confirm Donald Trump’s pick to replace her with a conservative.

Outspoken Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even suggested Democrats would try to pack the court with liberals by increasing the number of judges from the current nine.

As fury raged in Washington, high-profile leftists hinted at violent insurrection in posts on social media.

Trump-bashing former CNN presenter Reza Aslan tweeted to his 293,000 followers: “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f***ing thing down.”

Screenwriter Beau Willimon, who produced House of Cards and is the president of the Writers Guild of America, East, also vowed action.  He told his 164,000 followers: “We’re shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment before the election.”

‘THERE WILL BE RIOTS’

Emmett Macfarlane, a professor at the University of Waterloo in Canada, tweeted: “Burn Congress down before letting Trump try to appoint anyone to SCOTUS.”

Political commentator Laura Bassett, who writes for GQ and the Washington Post, said: “If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots.”

Daddy Files author Aaron Gouveia tweeted: “F*** no. Burn it all down.”

Last night Ocasio-Cortez said Republicans were “violating” Justice Ginsburg’s dying wish that she should not be replaced until the next president is sworn in.

The firebrand congresswoman stoked the row still further by saying Democrats should “absolutely” consider packing the court.

She said: “We should leave all options on the table, including the number of justices that are on the Supreme Court.”

Democrat nominee Joe Biden is due to make a speech on the subject later today, but has so far resisted Trump’s call for him to name his own shortlist.

Pelosi Stonewalls Bill That Would Crack Down on Chinese Influence in U.S.

House Democrats are blocking a bill that will curtail the influence of the Chinese-government-funded Confucius Institute, stymying bipartisan legislation that unanimously passed in the Senate.

Despite bipartisan support in the upper chamber, House Democrats—including a cosponsor for the bill—voted against placing the CONFUCIUS Act on the agenda in late July, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) has yet to announce plans to place the bill on the floor. If passed, the legislation would require all federally funded universities with Confucius Institutes to assume “full managerial control” of the institutes, a move that would limit the Chinese government’s influence over the program.

Frustrated by the lack of action, congressional Republicans are blaming Pelosi for blocking debate for the bill, criticizing the House speaker for putting politics over national security.

“I regret that Speaker Pelosi has still not scheduled the CONFUCIUS Act for a vote,” said Rules Committee Ranking Member Tom Cole, who introduced the July vote. “This isn’t about politics. It’s about holding China accountable, and Speaker Pelosi clearly hasn’t made that a priority.” Read more here.

Does anyone remember Brendan Daly?

Daly worked for Nancy Pelosi’s as her “Communications Director” from 2002 to 2010.

Daly immediately jumped over to Washington lobbying giant, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, and served in a lucrative position as Executive Vice President and National of Director Public Affairs from 2010 to 2014.

While working for Ogilvy, Daly secured a contract between the lobbying behemoth and China Central Television Network (CCTV), a Chinese Communist party propaganda media outfit. Ogilvy provides strategic counsel and identifies relevant parties to communications activities and media relations in order to support the launch of CCTV America.

“Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide will work with CCTV America to communicate to the American public that CCTV America will provide compelling, comprehensive, and balanced news programming from an Asian perspective that is relevant to a global audience,” the 2012 filing in accordance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) noted. Read more here.

Interestingly enough in 2014 Obama appointed Daly to the position of Director of Public Affairs for the Department of Energy in 2014. He left in 2015. So, Obama appointed Daly after he had filed and served as a foreign agent working for the Communist Chinese.

One can’t help but wonder if Nancy Pelosi’s reluctance to bring forward a bill that will limit the Chinese government’s influence in the U.S. has something to do with her Chinese Communist connections and former employee. Not to mention the Biden Crime Family’s connections to the Chinese Communist party and Chinese businesses which Pelosi would, naturally, seek to protect as a favor to good ol’ Joe.

The following is a cute and revealing tale clipped from a 2015 story published in The Atlantic. (I’m sure you remember The Atlantic. They are that failing yellow journalism rag which recently published a  fake news story about President Trump.)

Brendan Daly, Pelosi’s former communications director, remembers getting a call from Pelosi on the day before Christmas one year. The Chinese government had just released a famous dissident and Pelosi wanted to issue a statement. Daly was in the middle of baking cookies with his kids. “It’s Christmas Eve,” he protested. Pelosi replied, “The dissidents haven’t been celebrating Christmas.” Daly wrote the statement.
