California Teachers Union Produces Fairytale

Posted by Tina

Ed Asner is the snide voice for this dishonest piece of “art” produced by the California teachers union.

Please keep in mind as you watch that this piece of “art” represents the “folks” who teach future generations in California schools.

What is the purpose of this “art”? California is run completely by Democrats that the teacher’s union helped to elect. They won the whole enchilada in the last election. If I have time I’m going to try to count the lies embedded in this weird message. Take a look and see if you can figure out why Asner and the Teachers Union think they need to take a baseball bat to the heads of the “folks” without power in Sacramento…and see which lie you’d like to refute:

Here’s a hint about this piece of trash…the teachers pension and healthcare perks are a big reason that California has pot holes in its roads and massive debt. California teachers are paid well. They get a lot of vacation time. They can retire early and receive a great retirement benefit. You could say in fact that teachers, for many Californians, are the rich!

Here’s the deal! Ed and the gang are upset about a deal Gerry Brown is negotiating with Democrats in the legislature:

Last Night – Council Meeting

by Jack

7184-ps54-thumb-300x321-7183.jpg

Chico has a new Mayor and says good-bye to 3 councilmen. Last night Chico Council men, Andy Holcombe, Jim Walker and Bob Evans stepped down to be replaced by Sean Morgan, Tammi Ritter and Randal Stone, Ann Schwab was re-elected. The new council appointed Mary Goloff aka Flynn and Scott Gruendel to be Mayor and Vice Mayor respectively.

Sean Morgan now joins Mark Sorensen as the only two conservative members on the council. This now looks a lot like our Assembly and Senate…run by far left liberals top to bottom. If you didn’t like what the last liberal council did, you sure aren’t going to like this one. We’ve moved even farther to the left. My best wishes and sincere condolences to Councilmen Sorensen and Morgan.

           “Equalizing” Since 1879!

A bit of Holiday Season cheer from the California State Board of Equalization:

Sales and Use Tax Rate Will Increase on January 1, 2013

Due to voter approval of Proposition 30, the statewide sales and use tax rate will increase one quarter of one percent (0.25%) on January 1, 2013. The higher tax rate will apply for four years — January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2016.

For more information on this increase, please visit our tax rate increase webpage:
http://www.boe.ca.gov/rateincrease/

For a listing of tax rates, please visit our California City & County Sales & Use Tax Rates webpage:
http://www.boe.ca.gov/sutax/pam71.htm

In addition to the statewide sales and use tax rate increase, voters in some cities and counties approved a number of new or increased district taxes that will go into effect April 1, 2013. These new or increased district taxes will be sent to taxpayers in a separate notice.

And, NO SURPRISE HERE:  economists believe that the drag (tax) on economic activity will SLOW economic activity and will SLOW the economic recovery.

Sunday Marked 57th Anniversary of Rosa Parks’ Brave Protest

“I would like to be known as a person who is concerned about freedom and equality and justice and prosperity for all people.” ― Rosa Parks

Sunday marked the 57th anniversary of the day Rosa Parks defied local authority and took a seat near the front of the bus. This was an incredibly courageous decision at a time of unchallenged and blatant racial oppression in the old South. Mrs. Parks described her choice as an act motivated by fatigue…tired from working but also tired of being oppressed. Her spirit just said no. This action sparked a long bus protest in the local black community that ultimately led to the civil rights movement of the sixties.

Rosa Parks was an ordinary American who did something remarkable. The quote above reflects her extraordinary strength and suggests that she believed strongly in individual freedom and self-reliance. She was a humble person who worked hard. I admire her greatly…her spunk and her determination. I wish we had more people with her values in America.

So many people asked Rosa Parks to speak about her experience that she founded an Institute with the purpose of helping young people realize their full potential:

In February, 1987, she co-founded the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development with Ms. Elaine Eason Steele in honor of her husband, Raymond (1903-1977). The purpose is to motivate and direct youth not targeted by other programs to achieve their highest potential. Rosa Parks sees the energy of young people as a real force for change. It is among her most treasured themes of human priorities as she speaks to young people of all ages at schools, colleges, and national organizations around the world.

It’s common practice for the President to mark anniversaries with remarks that honor those involved for their courageous or outstanding achievements. President Obama chose his own unique way to remember the courage and determination of Rosa Parks.

On Voter Intelligence

We’re always getting these exceptionally well written pearls from you folks, but this one really stood out. Whether you agree with the writer or not, you must admit it was very well done and worthy of your consideration. Thank you Korah for sharing your brilliance with us. The days of voters thinking logically before they vote is over. Americans have abdicated their God given responsibility of raising their children by allowing the public school system to do so.

It is the modern day school system that raised the vast majority of the 58.8% of voters who voted in favor of Measure K. Think about it. How is it possible for a voter to understand that the vast majority of small businesses, and thus the very employer of 85% of Americans, are incorporated, when the modern day school system those very same small business owners send their children to do not teach economics 101? If the children of those who own the small businesses do not understand economics, how on God’s green earth do you expect the children of the people who work for that small businessman to understand economics?

Until we regain control of the education in America, it will not change. Sadly it will get worse.

It’s time to face the facts, Socialism is here to stay. If you doubt me, just look at California. Democrats control everything, and even though they are the ones who have screwed up this once great state, the voters have awarded them with a super majority so that they can now finish the job they started. I know many Republicans, some of them are even Christian conservatives who voted for Measure K.

When I asked them why, they said they did so because corporations cannot possibly understand what everyday Americans need. When I explain that most corporations are small business people who hire maybe 2 to 20 people they are shocked. They are shocked because when they think of corporations, they think of ATT, Wal-Mart, GM, Sony, etc., etc.. It comes down to education, and those who control it, will rule the politics of the future, and we are living in the future today.

The Education Dept was started under Jimmy Carter’s Administration in 1979, almost 34 years ago. Another way to put it, would be to say that for the last 16 years we have had citizens voting who’s complete education was under the design of Socialist propagandists. Add them to the vast number of citizens who’s college education has been controlled by Socialists since the mid 1970’s and you can see that Capitalism as we know it has not been properly taught for quite some time in America.

So I would suggest you get real comfortable with citizens voting against their own self interest, under the belief that they are actually voting in favor of their own self interest. All the while, you and many conservatives like you will continue putting your children into classrooms being taught by Socialists who themselves were educated in the very same system that will continue turning our children against us. Who was it that said, “We don’t need to defeat America on the battle field. We’ll just teach America’s children to hand it over to us.”!

Bomb Explosion at Social Security Office in Arizona Friday Morning

Posted by Tina

Has anyone heard a word in the press about this?

Apparently an investigation is underway and a man has been arrested after a bomb (reportedly and IED device) detonated at a Social Security Administration office in Casa Grande Arizona near Phoenix. No one was injured but a car was destroyed in the early morning explosion according to the PJ Tatler:

Within 90 minutes of the explosion, police had a suspect in custody. But you wouldn’t know it from reading the establishment media reports this past weekend. One reason might be that the suspect is 47-year-old Abdullatif Aldosary of Coolidge, AZ, an Iraqi refugee.

On Friday, federal agents served a search warrant on his home. Aldosary has been on the radar of the Department of Homeland Security for at least the past couple of years.
Late Sunday afternoon, I confirmed with a source at the Phoenix FBI office that the case is being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism. The source said that Aldosary is expected to be charged with a host of federal and state explosives and arson charges.

A later update in the story from an unnamed FBI source indicates we can expect the usual administration response to domestic terror attacks:

it is highly unlikely that Aldosary will be charged with any terrorism offense. While they are internally treating it like a domestic terrorism investigation, including looking at if he had any help constructing the explosive device, the FBI is saying very little and and will prosecute this as a simple explosives and arson case because of “the political sensitivities involved.” (emphasis original)

One local blogger did have something unremarkable to say for its predictability. Daily Kos was quick to blame “right-wing extremism” and took the opportunity to suggest his own prescience in suspecting that “right wing extremists” would resort to violence after losing the election:

For a long time now, I have believed that the re-election of President Obama would lead to a rash of right wing violence in the US. That is, with the right wing feeling that ‘traditional America’ is lost, many will turn to violence…if this is right wing extremism, the difference between this bombing and the Oklahoma City bombing is only in scale…the intent is the same.

Yeah, because in the last four years “many” in the “right wing” have been extremely violent! Over a million of us marched on Washington. They left not one scrap of paper, much less a path of violence. On the other hand…

I do recall something about a weeks-long protest. Let’s see, it was well supported by the left…including the President and several Democrat Congress critters. Occupy something, it was called, and it featured a few murders and rapes, defecating and urinating in public, children being left unattended, indescribable filth and destruction of public spaces and property.

Heritage reported on the history of violence that marks that left wingish movement:

There have been over 3,000 arrests at Occupy protests since they began only eight weeks ago. President Obama and liberal congressional and grassroots leaders have been encouraging and inciting these protests. It’s time for these leaders to persuade their followers to stop destroying property and assaulting others-especially women. These acts do not constitute peaceful free assembly or speech.

Yep, those peaceful ‘folks” on the left have it all over the right wingers when it comes to “violence”!

Let me know if anything turns up in the press on this. I suspect that unnamed FBI source has it right.

Boehner Flabberghasted, President “Not Serious” and Geitner…”Silly”

Posted by Tina

“I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” ― Thomas Jefferson

The “folks” at Mediaite tuned into FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace:

The President and Democrats will blame Republicans when a deal isn’t reached. The duped masses will cheer and raise their fists. So? what’s new?

Obama is only serious about his transformation plans. He heads not a party but a syndicate. The syndicate are not servants of the people or even loyal Americans…they are a cabal of socialists bent on “fundamentally transforming” the land of the free into the land of the forever dependent and wanting, whining and waiting for more.

When our economy is destroyed where will the money come from? Why Timmy will just print more. Can a man this educated (MIT) really be this stupid and short sighted? Yes, I think he can.

Republican Voters at Lowest Level Ever in CA

Posted by Jack

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California has reached an all-time high of 18.2 million registered voters, while the number of registered Republicans has fallen below 30 percent, signaling a worrisome decline for the state’s minority party, officials said Friday.

In its final update before Tuesday’s general election, the secretary of state’s office said the number of registered voters has increased by 950,000 since the 2008 presidential contest. Officials attribute that surge in part to the state’s new online registration system, which helped many young, Democratic-leaning Californians sign up to vote this fall.

That system was seen as a threat to the California Republican Party, which has struggled to retain members, let alone add them. The secretary of state announced that Republicans now make up 29.3 percent of the state’s electorate, compared with 31.4 percent in 2008.

This appears to be the lowest ebb for the party since records have been available.

The percentage of voters registered without a party preference - or independent – has reached an all-time high in California, according to registration statistics released recently by the California Secretary of State’s office.

Over the past four years, the number of voters who didn’t register with a political party has increased by about 600,000, or 1.8 percent, according to the report. About one in five Californians currently does not affiliate with a political party, according to the report.

Democrats Victimized by One of Their Own

Posted by Jack

7171-crook23-thumb-165x219-7170.jpg

Kinde Durkee, once entrusted with the finances of major political organizations and candidates in Long Beach and beyond, was sentenced Wednesday to an eight-year prison term for embezzling over $7 million during a 12-year period.

In March, Durkee plead guilty to five counts of mail fraud after her September 2011 arrest, which resulted from an FBI investigation of a long list of irregularities related to the finances of campaigns and organizations handled by Durkee, including Rep. Laura Richardson, Mayor Bob Foster and the Long Beach Democratic Club.

Citing pending litigation, Foster’s office declined to comment, but Long Beach Democratic Club President Rex Richardson expressed regret that it came to this but satisfaction that the criminal chapter in the Kinde Durkee saga is finished.

“It’s regrettable that the Democratic Party, Long Beach Democratic Club, and countless candidates had to deal with this unfortunate situation,” he said. “I’m glad that it’s come to some resolution. I hope that other Democratic clubs and candidates were able to recover some of their assets. The Long Beach Democratic Club recovered a portion of what was lost. Fortunately, we were successful in raising enough money to participate in the two election cycles since the incident.”

Among Durkee’s other victims are Sen. Diane Feinstein, the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee, the Orange County Democratic Party, Orange County Young Democrats and the nonprofit organization the National Popular Vote Institute. Like Foster, several of these parties have lawsuits pending against Durkee, some of which also name First California Bank as a defendant.

Shipping Clerks Strike!

by Jack

(Long Beach) Unionized shipping clerks are going on strike over an allegation of outsourcing to shippers in other states. The cargo companies say that’s not true and to make peace they have offered them a raise in pay and more vacation time. Currently shipping clerks are paid $160,000 with full benefits, they have been offered a salary of $190,000 plus 11 weeks paid vacation each year. The clerks are thinking it over, but hint that this may not be enough..
