Mondays , Wednesdays and Fridays?

A. Because on Tuesday and Thursday, the Sex Ed class uses it.

Aero Union operates a fleet of firefighting aircraft at the Chico airport, but they won’t be for much longer. Aero Union is moving to Sacramento because they have a better deal for them. According to an insider at AU Butte County has made the cost of doing business here prohibitively high.

(Erny Spears shown left) This is exactly what Erny Spears, candidate for supervisor in the 3rd district, has been talking about. He says we need to focus on ways to retain existing businesses like Aero Union and also attract new businesses.

I spoke with Erny about this yesterday and he informed me, right now there is a huge disconnect between the business community and local politicians and he wants to encourage more open communications so local government can stay alert to what is happening in the business community. “This is the first step to working with businesses to help them stay here in Butte County and not be chased off by overregulation and high fees.” Erny said.

Erny said Butte County does not have a good reputation for being business friendly, “We need to fix this before this county is broke.” He pointed out we have a reputation for being a welfare county with high unemployment and this is unacceptable. He blames the Aero Union loss on Supervisor Maureen Kirk for failing to negotiate a reasonable agreement with them to keep them in Butte County. He said, “The airport industrial park is in her district, so why wasn’t she on top of this and working to keep them as a cornerstone business?”

Erny said he was extremely upset that we’re losing an important part of the airport industrial area and then he made it clear this is why he is running. “First, I’m a businessman – I’m not a politician, but, at least understand business and what good paying jobs mean to this county! This is why I want to be your pro-business, pro-jobs candidate. Working together we can improve our local economy and save our jobs and create new jobs with decent pay. Look, we have to be competitive and market ourselves and we’re not doing that! We must make Butte County the kind of place businesses would like to move to and that means streamlining the process and cutting back on the bureaucratic red tape. This is how we can improve our tax revenues and that is the only way we can protect desperately needed services like police and fire. If we don’t we’re going to be doomed to staying a welfare county.”

“Evidence shows separate group of violent Islamists boarded flotilla.” ** Accumulating evidence in the IDF’s investigation of the Gaza flotilla incident is pointing to the fact a separate group of Islamist radicals whose sole intention was to initiate a violent conflict was aboard the Mavi Marmara, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at the opening of Sunday’s cabinet meeting. ** He said that a group of street-fighters “boarded the ship at a separate port, did their own provisioning, and were not subject to the same security check of their luggage as all the other passengers.” ** The prime minister’s remarks followed IDF reports that a group of about 50 men – of the 700 on board – had been identified as being well-trained, and a ringleader who recruited them from the northwestern Turkey city of Bursa. ** The group was split up into smaller squads that were distributed throughout the deck and communicated with one another with handheld communication devices. The men wore bulletproof vests and gas masks and laid an ambush for the Shayetet 13 soldiers as they rapelled onto the ship’s deck from a helicopter. ** The members of this violent group were not carrying identity cards or passports. Instead, each of them had an envelope in his pocket with about $10,000 in cash.

BREAKING NEWS: California has joined up with Arizona and has sworn to enforce federal immigration laws. This is incredible news, almost unbelievable, but it’s really true.

The California law reads virtually the same as Arizona’s, except CA takes it a step further. Our law expressly prohibits sanctuary cities from interfering with the enforcement of immigration laws. Now lets get right to the key points (Note, the entire law is at the end of this article):

Police must cooperate, and there is no wiggle room for sanctuary cities:

“Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws.”

The statute then goes on to specify the procedures required by law enforcement officials if they suspect the person is an illegal immigrant:

President Obama has been taken by surprise! He had no idea blue state CA would pass such a law! I wonder if it came up in talks with the AZ Governor?

“Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an

alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding documentation to indicate his or her legal status.

Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States.”

Sanctuary cites pay close attention to this: “Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city, county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent or limit the cooperation required by [Section 834b] is expressly prohibited.”

This is no joke, California has approved and passed this tough immigration law. In fact it’s been on the books for many decades. As a police officer I have personally enforced this law and there’s been no profiling problems here. The AZ law is not going to have any problems either. AZ is merely following the law of the land just like Ca is required to do and has done for many years in the past.

The histeria created by those radicals calling for boycotts of AZ is concealing a hidden agenda. This agenda can be found in the speeches by LaRaza and Mecha leaders, and on college campus protest rallies and anywhere where leftist radicals gather. This is all about a power grab. They are using many tactics to gain traction, including creating racial division. They want this power at all costs, even if it will undermine the great progress Americans have made over the last 40 years in the civil rights movement. This is about what they want, never mind the law, the Constitution and our civil rights, this is all about them and virtually whatever it takes to achieve their ends seems to be acceptable behavior.

The proprietor of a vegan caf in Portland Oregon has demonstrated the proper profiling technique. The Arizona police (and others around the country) should take notes:

The words could be printed on the back of the business cards that Portland police carry: “We strive to provide a community space that is safe and welcoming to all.” ** But that’s not a sentence taken from the mission statement of the Portland Police Bureau. ** No, its from the website of the Red & Black Cafe, where a Portland police officer who stopped for a cup of coffee in mid May was told, in so many words, that his kind wasn’t welcome there. ** Its an irresistible story, a classic keep-Portland-weird moment, the co-owner of a Portland cafe that professes to welcome everybody — vegans, environmental and animal-rights activists, the homeless — telling Officer James Crooker, a former Marine who served in Iraq, to take his coffee, leave and not come back. ** As a city, Portland keeps pleading with its police to better understand the people they serve, all of them, whatever their race, whether or not they suffer from a mental illness, whether they sleep on a sidewalk or with a roof over their head.

Our brave men and women in blue could learn from the sheer genius of this vegan technique: Pick a target…get his attention…and then….kick him out telling him to never come back!

Turns out William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn of the sixties terror group Weather Underground, along with Code Pink founder Jodie Evans, helped to organize the Free Gaza Movement. The Free Gaza Movement is the group that launched the six-ship flotilla from Turkey to Israel that ended in a violent clash with Israeli Defense Forces. Evidence found aboard the Mavi Marmara suggest this group of peaceniks were armed and may have had plans to take hostages:

“They came for war,” was how one Israel Navy commando described the activists aboard the Mavi Marmara Turkish passenger ship, where clashes erupted early Monday morning and ended with a reported 10 activists dead and dozens of others, including eight IDF soldiers, wounded. ** A top Navy officer said that in the future, the Navy will be more aggressive and treat such ships like they were coming for “war.” ** “Operation Sea Breeze,” as it was called by the IDF, actually began several hours earlier, at about 11 p.m. Sunday, as the navy made initial contact with the Mavi Marmara and the other five ships that were part of an international aid flotilla on its way to try and break the Israel-imposed sea blockade of Gaza. ** After several hours of radio communications and warnings that the Mavi Marmara would be boarded if the captain did not change course, OC Navy V.-Adm. Eliezer “Chiney” Marom – who had set up a command post on the INS Victory – gave the order to Flotilla 13 naval commandos at 4 a.m. on Monday to board the ship. ** The three Israel Air Force Blackhawk helicopters hovering nearby made their approach above the Mavi Marmara’s upper deck. Sitting on board, the naval commandos could just make out the few dozen activists gathered below. Carrying non-lethal weapons as well as pistols, the last thing the soldiers thought they would walk into was a well-planned lynch. ** In a search of the ship the Navy discovered – in addition to the bats, metal pipes and knives – Molotov cocktails that had been prepared in advance by the so called “activists.”

Irreverent response to “humanitarian flotilla activists”:

In politics there are generally three types of politicians. The first is the one who will say whatever you, their audience, want to hear. They will tell you what you want to hear, and then five minutes later tell their next audience what they want to hear, even if they completely contradict what they just told you. Anything to get your vote. Good examples of this would be Bill Clinton, Barbara Boxer, and John “Flip-Flop” Kerry (all democrats, although there are certainly some republicans who have behaved the same way).
The next politician is more of a consensus builder. They will not lie to an audience and say what they want to hear, but they might not bring up issues of disagreement either. Instead they find common ground and build on it, if it exists. These types of political leaders can be good or bad but tend to survive longer. I think maybe John McCain would fit this bill. Arnold Schwarzenegger actually wanted to be this kind of politician but he did a terrible job of it. There are good leaders on both ends of the spectrum who lead this way, not just moderates.
The third type is the opposite of the first. This is someone who will tell you EXACTLY what they think even if you hate them for it. They’re loved by those who agree with them, but they have a tendency to tick other people off. Still, they’re far more respected than the first type who will lie and tell you anything you want to hear.

Senator Sam Aanestad

is known to be the third kind of political leader. He will literally walk into any room and tell people exactly how he feels on a given subject, even if it’s not what they want to hear, and it doesn’t matter if they’re republicans or democrats. This has angered even some lobbies who agree with republicans most of the time. It may not be everyone’s favorite style of leadership, but make no mistake, Sam Aanestad is a leader.

Three cheers for Arizona

The shoe is on the other foot and the Mexicans from the State of Sonora, Mexico don’t like it.

Can you believe the nerve of these people? It’s almost funny.

The State of Sonora is angry at the influx of Mexicans into Mexico . Nine state legislators from the Mexican State of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona ‘s new employer crackdown on illegals from Mexico .

It seems that many Mexican illegals are returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off.

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to state that Arizona ‘s new Employer Sanctions Law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.

At a news conference, the legislators said that Sonora , – Arizona ‘s southern neighbor, – made up of mostly small towns, – cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools that it will face as Mexican workers return to their hometowns from the USA without jobs or money.
